Check out the Mac thread http://keepassx.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1920 for an unofficial build of 0.4.3 for Mac OS X with Auto-Type.

A patch has been submitted for inclusion in the official build as well.

Hello, how can I sync my keepassx db between win and linux?
    Thanks.

  3. Andy says:

@moderators: this looks like a good FAQ Q&A.
    @Moises
I don’t sync, I carry a USB key containing the db (between home and work) and make a backup once in a while. You decide if the special pw file is on the USB key (defeats purpose) or *only* on your machines. On Mac I use KeePassX and on win I currently use KeePass 1.x (not 2.x) so the same db works as long as your shortcuts are set up correctly.

Maybe you ask because you want to “electronically” keep them sync’d ?

I just found out about the win version of KeePassX today and I got used to the auto-type (which was part of KeePass already) but the team uses KeePass and as long as they talk to each other…

  4. Justin says:

Really appreciate the Windows build! I like the interface conformity while having this on all of my machines (Windows 7, Max OS X and Ubuntu). I am used to not having the auto type working, so doesn’t bother me.

To those looking to sync their kdb’s, give DropBox a try! Secure it with a strong cryptic password from KeePass (ironic almost) and download the client on all machines. Files are not available publically and they encrypt connections and the DropBox itself. Since the files are synced across all machines, you are literally also “backing” it up to multiple sources. Should you for some reason lose access to DropBox, they fubar it up somehow (which has never happened) if you don’t have an internet connection, the last updated version is still physically on each device.

Love Keepassx, I use it across multiple platforms as well. An iphone app to at a minimum to read the database file would be spectacular…

    Keep up the great work.

  6. sluckxz says:

I love your app. I use it on Win and Linux and have used it on OSX. Thanks for an awesome app.

  7. Is it possible to open a .KDBX file with KeePassX yet? Unfortunately I started using the new version of KeePass on Windows and haven’t yet found a way to open my .KDBX database file on my Macs… Any ideas? Suggestions? Solutions?

  8. Clay says:

It awesome having this on OSX however whats with the windows not being modal and staying on top when you unlock the workspace, I find its always hidden under my other apps when I try to access it, kotkeys would be awesome but also an option to keep the window always on top when given focus.

  9. KeePass Fan says:

I recently switched from Windows to MAC and have been using KeePass 2.1 on Windows for some time. The windows version seems to have more features that are quite nice. (history of files opened, allows you to open more than one db at the same time, concurrent read/write access). Are there plans to incorporate some of these features into the MAC version or am I still a MAC newb who hasn’t figured this version out?

    Thanks, its a great product.

  10. Alex says:

I appreciate the program, but sadly, it doesn’t fit my needs.

I wanted it to open my Windows Keepass 2 .kdbx files, but it doesn’t open them.
    I repeat:

THERE IS NO SUPPORT FOR .KDBX FILES (KeePass 2 databases)

Hopefully, a solution will soon be provided; as this is really troublesome.
Nonetheless, a big thanks so far!

    No harsh feelings, just mentioning

    Hello,

Just dual booted a Netbook with Windows 7 & Ubuntu Lucid, needless to Ubuntu is now the preferred OS!

I use Keepass 2 on windows PCs which is great – I removed Mono so can’t use Keepass 2 in Lucid.

I converted my database to Keepass 1 from Windows and it runs smoothly with KeepassX but Keepass 2 database support would be great as some of the more advanced entries do not work.

  12. lew says:

Just downloaded and tried KeepassX on my Win7 64 bit machine. Doesn’t work well repeated mouse clicks on the menu get nothing. Can’t enter anything in the search box. I use KeePass 2 and it works fine. Was wanting something I can use on both Win and Ubuntu sharing the same database. Was willing to move everything back to .KDB but it will have to do better than this!

  13. bate_g says:

KeepassX is pretty cool, but I need the autofill function working on MAC…

    Great work!

To bate_g in 38 just above, see message 26 even further above.

  15. Zarggg says:

    @35:
Export your .kdbx as a .kdb in the Windows version.

  16. Zarggg says:

There have been updates to the base keepass project that have not yet been ported here. This port is nearly six months behind. Any plans on updating?

Also, since the project this is based on was DESIGNED for Windows, why would people want/need a windows version of this point? (Not complaining, only baffled/curious.)

  17. Kelvin says:

I would like to see a new update that bring a better integration with Mozilla Firefox…

  18. Linda says:

Could you tell when you will make GTK version of keepass? Because QT version is so ugly and unstable under GNOME environment. So, if you make next version of keepassX based on GTK, I will be happy! Please and Thank you!
    :-{}

I love you baby, please keep in mind GTK… yea

  19. bertbrain says:

  21. Reggie says:

I’m still having problem. Can you please help me?!

  22. Rob says:

I just wanted to take this moment to thank the KeePassX team for offering such a great app for free. I am using the OS X version at home, and the Windows version at work. Keep on rocking – I’m looking forward to using KeePassX 2 when it is released.

  23. Mike says:

I second Rob comments and would like to add that I also use Keepass (the database) on Mac,Android,Windows and Linux in that order. While I”m looking forward the KeePassX 2 I’m concerned that I will loose the ability for using KeePassX on the Android or Smartphone platforms when this happens.

  24. iPhone says:

    Hello Folks:

Time to Wake UP! we need an Iphone App!

    Thanks.

  25. Rich says:

Just found out. KeepassX does not work with Lion! Any ideas on the issue or when there might be an update?
