Hi thanks for this wonderful port. Forgive my ignorance if this has been mentioned already, but is there a plan to support keepass 2.0 .kdbx in the future? In 2010?

    Happy New Year!

I had a lot of trouble getting my family to use proper net banking passwords. Now all my problems are solved with just one adequate keepassX pass-phrase. You have my thanks.

  3. Thank you. KeepasX is the only way I can manage such big numbers of passwords for my servers, users, databases, etc…

You can improve it by adding searching for folders, or filtering folders. I keep clients grouped by named folders and sometimes I need to find not only ftp password for website but also accompanying mysql user name/psw. Now I have to add note with websites name to each record. Also I miss clone or dublicate folder functionality.

Big thank you. You made my life easier. P.S. I’ll try to convince my boss to donate 🙂 Thanks again.

VersionTracker website has plase KeepassX in the wrong directory:

    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10561914

The correct directory for KeepassX on the VersionTracker web site should be under the Password Managers section:

    http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/security/password

    Regards,

    Lucas.

Big Thanx for this great app! I’m using it since i moved to Mac.

Just a tiny issue of improvement: Could you plllleeeeaaaaassseee let the cursor jump into the search field after the database was opened. This would speed up my process of getting pws a lot. And also a keyboard shortcut for focussing the search field would be very nice.

    Thank you.

  6. Thank you for this project, this is very important to the security. This is my main tool every day in my work, because we have very much passwords, that is imposible to learn. But Keepassx is my support.

  7. Keepass Afficiando says:

I just wanted to say that KeePass is the best, and being available for Linux, Windows and Mac is just brilliant.

I used to be very reluctant to have all my passwords in one place, but with KeePass I no longer worry, in fact just the opposite; providing the main KeePass password is very strong it makes me feel far more secure.

I hope this little note goes a little way to saying a big thank you for all your work and effort that is put into KeePass. Thank you!!

Hey, this is a great program that I’ve been using for years now! It’s the best, safest and easiest program I’ve found for managing my passwords. Thanks so much for making and maintaining this piece of software.

    Hi keepassX Team,

Many thanks for the tool… Simply Superb.

My request to make compatible with KDBX format (ver 2.0)

    Best regards,

    Vinay

Thanks guys, KeePassX does the job for me.

Until yesterday, my reliance on Moon Software’s Password Agent was one of the last kinks causing me to still need Windows (I didn’t want to depend on Wine just for this). I had hundred of entries in my Password Agent file.

So I spent most of yesterday to write an XML to XML converter which allowed me to finally move all my data to KeePassX, without losing a single bit of data in the process.

If anybody else is the same situation I was, hopefully this will work for you as well as it did for me:

KeePassX is a fantastic password utility. In the last two weeks I have installed and used it under OS X 10.5.8, Windows XP and 7, Ubuntu 10.04 and on iPhone. The ability to import the kdb file directly to the iPhone is especially useful. Amazing.

Seems to open Android KeePassDroid files fine – Great! At last I can move away from scary closed-source password vaults on Android. Thanks.

Thank you for this wonderful job. I loaded keepassX and could read my password database from windows without any problem. Where is your “Donate” button ? You saved me so much time. Hugs and kisses.

Thanks for a great, simple and safe Password “Keeper”!
I run Ubuntu 10.04 on my 3 computers.

  15. Tromboon says:

I use it every day for my hundred or so passwords. In windows or linux this program is the best IMHO. Thank you so much for everyone who has developed, hosted or done something associated. Thank you one more time!

  18. Alan Stylez says:

I ran into 2 major problems and countless minor issues testing out this program… First, the hash test failed and I couldn’t get into my database stored in OSX (much less access it from iKeePass). Luckily, I was just testing out the program and didn’t have any invaluable information stored in that file! I saw some post that you should lock your workspace before closing it (even though this makes no sense), so I tried it. Now I’m getting ‘Unexpected file size’!?! Seriously?

I had such high hopes for this program, but it couldn’t even perform the basics. I can’t even create a password database, enter a password, save, close, open the file and read it!

    This program SUCKS!!!

  19. runical1991 says:

Great password manager. I recently found keepass 2.x & 1.x for windows for my laptop. However, my other computer is installed with linux Mint. Now I use dropbox to sync the files and I can use my passwords on both computers without having to have 2 different files that I have to sync manually 🙂

The only downside is that it is not compatible with keepass 2.x files…

    Great program nevertheless.

KeePass works on MAC!!! You guys are great!

  21. claude says:

I am very happy with KeePassX in Linux. Is there a way of converting PasswordSafe files .psafe3 to .kdb? I want to transfer my passwords from Windows to Linux, since I’m not using Win anymore.

I´m looking for a free and safe GNU password/data manager
that could store or sync with a GUI at my web site.

Does your tool support setting a CGI/Script URL as the database path ?

  23. jimdavis says:

I’ve been using KeePassX on Gentoo Linux for years now and I fell in love with it from the very beginning. Great program, nice set of features and very close to the Windows version, which is important for me, since I’m working on both platforms regularly.

I’m looking forward to KeePassX 2.x being finished – keep up the good work, thank you for this very handy tool.
