KeePassX

KeePassX 2.0 Alpha 5 released

Iā€™m happy to announce the fifth alpha release of KeePassX 2.0 as an early Christmas present šŸ˜‰

The most important changes are:

  • Support copying entries and groups using drag’n’drop [#74]
  • Open last used databases on startup [#36]
  • Made the kdbx file parser more robust
  • Only edit entries on doubleclick (not single) or with enter key
  • Allow removing multiple entries
  • Added option to minimize window when copying data to clipboard
  • Save password generator settings
  • Fixed auto-type producing wrong chars in some keyboard configurations [#116]
  • Added some more actions to the toolbar

Special thanks to Albert Weichselbraun for reworking the X11 auto-type code, fixing the bug mentioned above and making it much more maintainable.

Please test the new version and report any issues at https://www.keepassx.org/dev/.

You can also checkout the latest source code from our git repository at https://github.com/keepassx/keepassx.

Beware: this is an alpha release. While I believe the code base is already rather stable make sure to regularly backup your database.

Hey, thanks for the hard work you put in this project. What I am missing so far is the double click to copy password or username option and the autotype function.

On my hunt for this I stumbled over the macpass project at http://mstarke.github.io/MacPass/ wich is really nice and really os x like. Perhaps you can join forces and create a really nice keepass2 compatible os x solution. So far I like macpass better. I only wanted to mention that perhaps if you would work on one project instead of two it would be more interesting for you and the users šŸ˜‰

But don`t take me wrong, I really appreciate your hard work! Thanks for that!

Thank you very much for your great job. I am waiting for the stable version. when can we install it from official REPO in archlinux?

I have to mention a problem I’ve had with this program to be fixed in the next version.
Keepassx in KDE clear entire clipboard after the seconds taht we set in settings. I think it could be better if it gonna clear only username or password that pushed in clipboard and do not touch the other entries.

    qt-4 which version? 4.6.0 needed?
    ZLIB needed?
QT cannot compile keepassx-2.0-alpha5 in ubuntu.

Hi. Nice update to previous version. What I would wish to have are a) a button to shown my password while typing when opening the database and b) the search bar permanently shown at the top (much quicker). Thank you!
