Excellent work! Never had a single problem with this. Wasn’t even aware that it’s cross platform, just found out. – Just another great bit of evidence that quality doesn’t have to do anything with money and that there’s idealistic people out there. Thank the lord!!!
Just installed on my new MacBookPro with SnowLeopard: it was all fine, except for an error while exporting the 2.x DB from the Windows app, even though I didn’t find anything wrong in the DB loaded on the Mac.
Well…actually not installed: is there only a portable version??
I use KeePassDroid on my Nexus one, and PassDrop on iPad2. File is on DropBox so accessible in many places. I also opened the file on WinXP once, works everywhere so far. KeePassX is great!
Amazingly convenient piece of software. I’ve been using it for the last 2 years, and it’s simply irreplaceable. Thank you guys.
Our whole company has been using Keepass for over 2 years. Thoroughly recommended by all of us, it has never failed and seems to be completely bug free. I recently moved from Windows to MacOS and the .kdb file from the Windows version opened and ran without change on Mac. A bulletproof and professionally engineered piece of software. Thank you guys so much for making this available. Hats off!
Thank you very much for this. Excellent cross platform software.
We also will use it in our IT department, its small, secure, fast, with a central stored database, exactly what I was looking for.
This password program works on all platforms and is something every webmaster should use.
This is an excellent password management program. Can’t wait to sync these entries with my smart phone and set up a central database so I can access these passwords anywhere.
Thanks Developers, keep up the great work.
I’ve used this for quite a while and wouldn’t go without it.
I have used Windows KPV2 now since Aug 2009 after looking for ages for a vault. Now I am on Linux and V1. What a relief to find that it was cross platform. I have never had a problem with it that didn’t come down to my mistake. For the first time I do have a problem but I am sure it will be due to upgrading to a new version of OS and Opera.
Keep up the good work. Hopefully you have found someone to help with the load.
Kindest Regards and Many Thanks.
This appears to be a very independent, strong project. However, what is worrisome is that the database is stored on the very same computer you are using the program. So there is a doubt that if somebody can steal the data (for example in case of loss or theft). Otherwise, it appears to be very stable.
Hey Asoka, try storing the kdb file on a USB drive instead. That’s what I do, so I can use the same database on my Linux or Windows computers, and it’s a bit more secure, so long as you don’t lose your USB drive… You can also store your KDB file in an encrypted filesystem (like TrueCrypt) with strong AES encryption and a good strong password, which would also be a serious detriment to theft (via physical means anyway). I think the KDB file is already encrypted with your KeePass password, also.
Wow, this is just exactly what I was looking for. As a long-time user of the Windows port of KeePass 1.x, I was floored to see that I can still keep using this wonderful tool as I transition to more frequent Linux desktop usage. I was reticent to go find some other password management system, since KeePass has been such a Kick A** tool. I might even try it on my MacBook Air pretty soon.
Anyway, thanks again for making this available for us. Very much appreciated!
This application is absolutely fantastic! I use it in IT department of my company because its small, secure and useful.
We use this program to keep all of our passwords protected and is a must have for any webmaster. We always use secret passwords after once having one of our passwords compromised so now every login has a unique password.
Every website I have to join where I have to create a password I let keepass do it all for me.
Awesome program just waiting for iphone version.
Wonderful application. The only thing I miss is browser integration.
Hi everybody :-).
I love KeePassX! A wonderful app that lets me free to set up a different password for each website/account/or anything else.
Congratulations! Thank you very much for your work. 🙂
Perfect, between all passwords manager i tried, this is the best by far, simple, good looking and useful. Is the project “finished” or are you going to add new features?

thx so much!
is there a way to connect via http to chrome browser on the Mac?
Indubitablement KeePass est l’outil de gestion des mots de passe à posséder.
Sa qualité, sa souplesse d’utilisation, sa gratuité (!), sa sécurité en font un must.
Congratulations ! Thank you very much for your work. 🙂
