    sanks!

Any chance of having one entry with multiple url’s for autotype? Like there’s active directory authentication for web based email, calendar and wiki, all on different urls – i.e. email.domain.com, calendar.domain.com and wiki.seconddomain.com. So I’d create one entry with my AD login&password and put all the different URLs so I can use auto-type for all of them… ?

    thanks

    excelllent

  4. SniperBeamer - 18. September 2009

You can use auto-type with multiple window titles:

    Thank you!

  6. Devis - 19. September 2009

Are these features planned for the future ?

    - kwallet emulation
    - print passwords group
    - double password: one for read-only (without lock) and one for read-write

    Thank you!

downloaded KeePassX 0.4.1 with mixed results. Using Ubuntu 9.04
    Drag-n-Drop works fine.
But Global-Auto-Type and plain Auto-Type do not work anymore.
In TOOLS, Customizing Sequence does not work either.

    Any suggestions?

Problem when trying to open database on a remote share. Same issue on many computer. Ubuntu 9.04

The application close after entering master key. If I retry to open it, a message say the database is locked. Even if I try to re-open it, the application close. After many try the database open. But I don’t know why because I always do the same steps.

  9. Ivan - 22. September 2009

In Ubuntu 9.04 Global-Auto-Type does not work.
    Auto-Type does not work either.
I guess, I’m going back to 0.4.0 till this is resolved

The comments are *not* a bug tracker.

and provide as much information as possible (e.g. keyboard layout).

sorry about my remark at #7 above.
    KeePassX works very well…
Thank you for the good work

  12. Scrupule - 3. October 2009

Thank you, this program is great !

  13. Mike - 8. October 2009

When will keepassX for Mac have the features that are present only for Linux? Thanks for a great program I use it at home and work.

  14. Alex - 10. October 2009

    Thank you :)

  15. inconspicuous - 14. October 2009

Any chance KeePassX will soon support the new .kdbx file types that are being used in the most recent version for the PC platform? I unfortunately starting using KeePass v2 for PC prior to realizing there wasn’t a supported option for my Mac… and I don’t believe there is any way to convert my database to the 1.0 standard.

Any ideas on a timeframe for .kdbx support?

  16. ivanzoid - 15. October 2009

Changelog: # Removed “Close to Tray” option

    Why? I miss it…
    BTW good program :)

  17. ivanzoid - 15. October 2009

inconspicuous – use keepass 2 on pc to convert kdbx to kdb :)

  18. hiflyer - 19. October 2009

I also miss Close to Tray option. I am always closing when I mean to go to tray.
I use Ubuntu 9.04 and Keepassx 4.1 does not want to open the first time. It will open the second time after telling me it is locked. Works fine after that false start.

    Good program otherwise

  19. remoty - 21. October 2009

Using keepass(x) on windows xp, mac osx tiger and debian – and I love it!

    ~ ~ ~
A really important feature I miss is the option to use the app without a gui
    - like passwordsafe for example
    ~ ~ ~

    most important functions:
    * list all entries
    * view password & username for an given entry

    also nice to have:
    * create new entry/group & save

elsewise great app – keep on coding!!

    Removed “Close to Tray” option

    WTF?

That explains why I’ve lately been finding that KeePassX is never there when I need it. Can you bring back that option? It was incredibly useful.

  21. Bob Claborne - 29. October 2009

Have you considered a synchronizing feature?

  22. Johnny - 31. October 2009

I agree with Paul. I’ll be using 0.4.0 until this is fixed. Close to Tray is more useful than drag and drop to me.

  23. Michael Andrews - 8. November 2009

Thanks for the continued support for a great product. You guys are appreciated.

  24. Anonymous - 12. November 2009

I hope that this would work on Maemo Linux too, so that I would get my passwords synced to my phone. kbdx support would be great too, because then I could use the same unconverted password file on all operating systems (using syncing folders).

  25. Anonymous - 12. November 2009

Porting might be quite simple: Maemo = Debian + GTK+ + Hildon. As a benefit, I guess KeepassX would then be usable on Ubuntu MObile too :)

  26. Anonymous - 12. November 2009

Oh, Maemo has QT4 now too :)

  27. Anonymous - 12. November 2009

Just put it on the Maemo extras repository, please.

I can run Keepassx v. 0.2.2 on Maemo. I just needed to manually do apt-get install libqt4-core libqt4-gui and install Keepass. Now it runs from command line. Not yet listed in application launcher :(

    @ Mike’s post from 2009-10-08

    You asked:

“When will keepassX for Mac have the features that are present only for Linux? Thanks for a great program I use it at home and work.”

This is a difficult question to answer. I still supply builds for each new version on OS X but have not looked into any features/bug specific to OS X in several months (just don’t have the time right now between all of my responsibilities). If you know anyone with OS X development experience, please encourage them to take a look at our code and submit a patch if possible! By the way, drag-n-drop did work for me on OS X, but only to/from certain programs. I wasn’t able to determine why by the time we released this version.

  29. aichita - 21. November 2009

    Hello
I want to install keepassX for my Mac i don´t know if it has any problems in the future?

  30. Ferdinand Soethe - 1. December 2009

Thanks for maintaining this all these years. Was a happy windows user, now I am still a rather happy OS/X-user of your tool.

Pls note that under Snow Leopard KeePassX (still) has a problem re-opening it’s windows from the window bar icon state. The window does open but remains hidden behind all other application windows until you minimize all of them.

    Ferdinand Soethe

Agree with remoty– would like a command line interface. Great tool.

  32. jabbott - 10. December 2009

I would really like the ability to selectively export. I have a team I need to share some passwords with, but I don’t want to share them all.

  33. Anonymous - 15. December 2009

Would like to have this ported to Maemo5 (Nokia N900)!

  34. Linda - 2. January 2010

I really find KeePassX very useful. The one feature I really, really miss and would like to see is a way to print out the database (at least as well as KeePass does). That would make KeePassX superb!! Thank You!

  35. Markus - 7. January 2010

Great software! Best on MAC, comes very close to the commercial product PasswordSafe on PC.

I’ve seen this request a couple of times for earlier releases and I would pretty much appreciate it:
any plans to add TAN-Management as in KeePass2?

    Regards
    Markus

  36. Anonymous - 8. January 2010

    great work!

  37. nandelbosc - 13. January 2010

    Hi fantastic job guys!

Only one handycap: can’t open kdbx (keepass2) files … when will it be possible?

    Thank’s!

    Just 3 words:
    Autotype OSX Please.

  39. corwin78 - 14. February 2010

Hello guys, any chance make UI for Nokia N900 with Maemo5?

  40. CRS_AK - 21. February 2010

Second support for KeePass 2.0 db support, or at least a ‘convert back to 1.0′ feature. So I can use the same database on multiple platforms. Work PCs are configured for 2.0 db, but can’t carry over to Mac laptop becoming an increasing pain.

  41. pj - 6. March 2010

love keepassx and would be over the moon with a version for n900!

  42. jk - 31. March 2010

    +1 for N900

  43. Adriano - 13. May 2010

    +2 for N900 :(

  44. Luis - 2. July 2010

    +3 for N900 :D

By the way, somebody has just tried to port it, but a little layout fix would be required….

  45. KeePassX: Password Manager for Ubuntu | Gnu Architecture - 24. July 2010
