Open URL in firefox:

Postby physicsperspective » 09 Sep 2006, 23:26

I'm trying to figure out how to open the KeepassX URL links in Firefox. I've already gone to Extras>Settings>Other Tab and in the browser command I typed "firefox openURL %1" (and tried a few varients). This command correctly loads the URL in a firefox browser but only as a second tab. In the primary tab it always loads is "http://www.exlibrisgroup.com/sfx_openurl.htm". With a slightly different command it would load the university of arizona's webpage. Very strange - anybody know the correct syntax to load only the desired URL in firefox?

The site which you get in the first tab is simply the first google search result for "openURL" because firefox does not need the command "openURL" - it's just a KDE specific thing.
So the right command for firefox is simply: firefox %1

How to restore an INTENTIONALLY closed firefox session? I've been using Firefox 3 and I accidentally quit my session without saving it. I simply clicked on "Quit" instead of "save and quit" accidentally. But I have to get those tabs back. Is that possible? I don't want to configure my firefox to automatically restore previous sessions each time, I just want that previous session back.
