close to tray in 0.4.1

close to tray in 0.4.1

Postby gabnic » 17 Sep 2009, 00:23

Why was the option "close to tray" removed in the version 0.4.1? I know that I can minimize to tray, but now i have to start the application and enter again the passphrase if I accidentally press the close button in the KeePassX window instead of the minimize..

Yeah that was a really useful feature hope you will bring it back

I would really like an opinion about why it was removed :)

Please bring back this ability.

Clicking the minimize button should only minimize the window (and have it still visible in the panel when you want it back) while clicking the close button should close the window (optionally keeping the application running in the notification area). Anything else seems counterintuitive, especially using the minimize button to close the window.

And even if you disagree with this view, why remove an option that people like?

Yes, I also miss this feature and I can't see a reason why it's removed.
At least you could make it as an option:
[x] Close to Tray
[ ] Minimized to Tray

Then the user is able to chosse the desired way of "closing" this application.

You know the old saying? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". It wasn't broke, so why'd you fix it?

Bring it back!

Not to mention, now I have to start it manually every time I reboot my PC. Now I have to fix what wasn't broke before.

So now you have two things to restore: add an option to minimize to tray upon clicking the "X", and automatically restart when the computer is rebooted.

Close to tray was one of the great features of this program. It allowed me to keep the program close at hand yet out of the way when it wasn't needed. While I am using KeePassX under Linux, I also use the original KeePass (portable) program under Windows from time to time & it has close to tray. Now I feel all confused.

Please bring this feature back. Thank you very much

I simply wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to the KeePassX developers for adding this feature back in to 0.4.2. Those of us who wanted it again hope it wasn't much trouble to add back into the code.
